What is GLD FSTVL?
GLD FSTVL is a free annual festival held in Boston, specifically at City Hall Plaza, with the overarching vision of celebrating Hip-Hop culture. The event features live music performances, DJ sets, dance showcases, and various food and retail vendors. It serves as a platform to amplify Hip-Hop culture, particularly highlighting the contributions of regional artists alongside national acts. The festival aims to provide fair compensation, media visibility, and professional stage and sound systems for all performers. Additionally, it promotes inclusivity and celebrates the beauty of Black culture through Hip-Hop.
The inaugural festival in August 2023 hosted 15 artists and DJs. In collaboration with the City of Boston Arts & Culture, the festival honored and celebrated the 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop. Through free programming, partnerships with local organizations, and initiatives promoting inclusivity–the event contributed to a more equitable and positive cultural landscape in Boston.

GLD FSTVL 2024 overview
The annual, one-day, family-friendly event, the second GLD FSTVL will occur on August 10, 2024, at Boston City Hall Plaza. This festival is part of STL GLD’s ongoing initiative to help challenge stereotypes and stigma surrounding Hip-Hop culture and celebrate the beauty and richness of Black culture through music, art, and food. The festival will also coincide with the 10 years of the band's formation and will work as a celebration of this momentous milestone.
What is planned for 2024:
8-10 regional acts spanning a wide range of hip-hop representation
2 national Hip-Hop acts
4-5 DJs
Retail vendor area featuring at least 10 local businesses
Food zone with 5 food trucks
